June 25 (UPI) — Spain’s Iago Aspas converted a difficult back heel for the tying goal in a 2-2 draw against Morocco in the World Cup Monday in Kaliningrad, Russia.

The score came in stoppage time of the Group B clash at Kaliningrad Stadium. Aspas came into the game in the 74th minute, replacing Diego Costa.

Dani Carvajal had the ball just outside of the box in the 91st minute of the match, while Spain was facing a 2-1 deficit. Carvajal sent in a pass to Aspas, who was just ahead of several defenders.

The ball came in and Aspas let it drift behind him. He eventually stabbed at the ball with the heel of his right foot, deflecting it past Morocco goalkeeper Munir Mohand Mohamedi.

Referees initially called Aspas offside but consulted video review to reverse the call and award the goal.

The draw means that Spain will face Russia in the round of 16. Portugal also advanced out of Group B and will face Uruguay in the next round. Morocco was eliminated from the tournament.

Aspas, 30, has six goals in 12 matches during his international soccer career with Spain. Isco scored the first goal for Spain in the draw. Khalid Boutaib and Youssef En-Nesyri scored for Morocco.
